MTI2 Single Touch or Multi-Touch has stopped working in macOS

If the Single Touch or Multi-Touch seems to have randomly stopped working while it was previous working a few moments before, something may have froze or conflicted with the UPDD Touch Driver. To reset the touch driver and restart all the apps associated follow these steps. 

  1. Open the OS X Activity Monitor  and in the "VIEW" menu tab, select ALL PROCESSES.

  2. Search for "UPDD" in the search field and force quit the "UPDD" app that is associated with the ROOT directory.

  3. Allow a few moments for all the UPDD applications to open back up. 
  4. Users should now have Single Touch and Multi-Touch action reset and working.
