Multiple display setup issues. Raven Touch Controlling another screen
Reveal All Possible Screen Resolutions for a Display Connected to a Mac
This works to reveal additional screen resolution choices for any display connected to a modern Mac, it also applies to all modern versions of OS X:
- Open System Preferences from the Apple menu in OS X
- Click on “Display”
- Under the ‘Display’ tab, hold down the OPTION / ALT key while you press on the ‘Scaled’ button alongside Resolution to reveal all available screen resolution options for the display
- Choose the resolution desired from the complete list of available screen resolutions, then close out of System Preferences as usual
OSX has changed a couple options in System Preferences that can cause display resolution issues. Be sure "Displays have separate Spaces" is disabled and Log Out in order to confirm the change. If you prefer to have the Menu Bar on the other display, you can leave this checked and the Menu Bar will show on both displays.
Be sure Automatically hide and show the Menu Bar is unchecked, as this will cause the Raven Mixer to not align correctly with the DAW.
For Multiple displays be sure the Menu Bar is on the Raven screen.
The color profile should be set to the top option. For MTi1 users set it to Digital. For MTi2 users set to top option.
If using an MTI2 and multiple screens be sure the correct screen is setup in the UPDD Console or else the touch on the Raven will control the cursor on the second display. Raven should always be the Main Display, so this will relate to Monitor 1 in UPDD settings.
To configure for Multiple screens, set the monitor to "WHOLE" then press "Configure all" and press "Next" when the non-touch monitor shows up on the screen.
Double check the correct screen is set for touch by clicking the "Calibrate" button. If the calibrate window shows up on the incorrect display, then the monitor will need to be selected in "Hardware" in UPDD Console.
If there is touch on the desktop, but Raven isn't responding to touch. Be sure to check out the UPDD TUIO app. "Run UPDD TUIO at login" needs to be checked for Raven to communicate with the UPDD touch driver.
Another option to getting the touch to function properly is to do a clean uninstall of UPDD by going to /Applications/Utilities and selecting UPDD uninstall. Run this program and reinstall Raven and Touch UPDD after.
